The Specialist tours spend the maximum amount of time on the tundra viewing or photographing the polar bears. This tour is led by naturalists or professional photographers and has been designed specifically for those who have an interest in these areas. Two accommodation options are available-a hotel based stay, or a Tundra Buggy Lodge-based stay. A welcome or farewell meal in Winnipeg and all meals in Churchill are included on this tour.

These tours include two nights accommodation in Winnipeg and five nights accommodation in Churchill. round trip airfare to/from Winnipeg-Churchill, Churchill transfers, four full Tundra Buggy day excursions, time for souvenir shopping, and all meals.

Occupancy on the tundra buggy is limited to ensure ample window space for people and equipment. Professionals who are extremely knowledgeable about the bears and their habits, and know the best angles and light conditions for that special shot lead these tours.

Tundra Buggies are furnished with dual-pane frost-free windows and contain propane-heating systems that resemble a fireplace. Fascinating information about the polar bears and other sub-arctic wildlife is also provided.

Churchill accommodation is subject to change and availability at the time of booking but, in general, is provided at the Ice Berg Inn, Polar Bear Inn or the Northern Nights Lodge. Winnipeg airport hotel is generally the Sheraton Four Points, but is subject to change.

Sample of a Specialist Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive into Winnipeg. Dinner with your guide and group. Overnight at airport hotel.

Day 2

Fly to Churchill. Town orientation. Overnight in Churchill.

Day 3-6

Four full day Tundra Buggy excursions providing opportunity to view, photograph, and learn about local wildlife and the environment.

Day 7

Time for souvenir shopping. Return flight back to Winnipeg. Farewell dinner. Overnight at airport hotel.

Day 8

Depart Winnipeg at your leisure.

All prices shown are in Canadian funds. A deposit of $750 CAD is due at the time of booking along with clients' full names. Full payment is due 90 days prior to the tour date. Penalties per person for cancellation are as follows: $300 CAD up to 89 days or more prior to the tour date; 50% of the total cost of the tour 90-61 days prior to the tour date; 100% of the total cost of the tour 60-0 days prior to the tour date.
